Filter is a small independent Auckland agency, founded by Misty Reid in 2005. After seven years in traditional ad agencies, Misty felt there had to be a better, more client-focused way of working.
Misty’s vision was an agency that was personal, honest, smart, focused and, for a price that was fair.
That’s still Filter’s mission today. We bring to the table outstanding creative talent, strategic thinking and the collective weight of years of senior account management experience. We love what we do and we give it everything we have.

Prior to founding Filter, Misty was Account Director at Metromedia (now Ogilvy Redworks), where her major clients included Auckland Zoo, Heart of the City and Auckland City Council, the agency’s largest account. While at Metromedia she also oversaw the service delivery of the account managers and worked on successful pitches for key accounts including BMW and V8 Supercars.
Before joining Metromedia, Misty had account management roles in two other Auckland agencies, working across household-name accounts such as Nestlé, Johnson & Johnson, Neutrogena, Burger King, Dick Smith Electronics and World Vision.
With a total of 18 years in the industry now behind her, Misty retains hands-on involvement in all projects at Filter, ensuring every client gets the very highest level of experience, quality and care.
Vanessa joined Filter in 2012. Before Filter, Vanessa was client side as a senior marketer. She understands first hand what its like to be a client and she makes sure Filter delivers what we say we will.
Vanessa has experience in Brand Management, Trade Marketing and Event Management. She spent 6 years executing campaigns at Lion for high profile brands including Steinlager, Corona, Macs, Smirnoff and Johnnie Walker. She also has experience with strategy, sponsorships, retail executions, trade incentives and PR. Before joining Lion Vanessa was in the hospitality and tourism industry primarily focused on Event design.
Vanessa works closely with Filters clients who appreciate her sharp marketing and trade knowledge. She is a seasoned multi-tasker and project manager turning colourful creative concepts into successful and profitable activities.
